Typography Now!

Say it like you mean it—type as voice, craft, and message.

This class introduces typography as a living, expressive language. Participants learn the fundamentals of how type works—structure, spacing, contrast, and clarity—while also exploring how letterforms carry tone, emotion, and identity.

You’ll experiment with both hand-built and digital methods to create type-forward compositions for posters, zines, social media, or worship settings. No prior experience is needed—just a message you want to say clearly and creatively.

We’ll cover:
  • Anatomy of type and what makes it readable
  • Layout and hierarchy (what people see first and why)
  • Lettering and collage techniques for expressive text
  • Real-world applications in faith, advocacy, and community work
Whether you’re a designer-in-training, a church communicator, or a community organizer, this class helps you bring your message to life—loud, clear, and beautifully crafted.
