Typography Now!
Say it like you mean it—type as voice, craft, and message.
This class introduces typography as a living, expressive language. Participants learn the fundamentals of how type works—structure, spacing, contrast, and clarity—while also exploring how letterforms carry tone, emotion, and identity.
You’ll experiment with both hand-built and digital methods to create type-forward compositions for posters, zines, social media, or worship settings. No prior experience is needed—just a message you want to say clearly and creatively.
We’ll cover:
-
Anatomy of type and what makes it readable
-
Layout and hierarchy (what people see first and why)
-
Lettering and collage techniques for expressive text
-
Real-world applications in faith, advocacy, and community work
