Support Posters through Consensus

Together, we explore the history of protest/support posters. We also learn the basics of hand lettering and composition–then we work to create signs that fight for justice for all!

Class Structure:

Stoneroller leads the class through an age-appropriate talk about the history of showing up with signs to support or protest events
We cover the ways we can make signs that are legible, beautiful, and effective
We discuss why we must always stay on the right side of history, using faith and principles to guide our messaging*
Stoneroller then leads the group through the basics of seeking consensus so that small groups can create a poster together.
The class is then excouraged make their own individual posters.
If we have the time and space, we then go on a peaceful march, practicing how we can show up and be heard!

Materials:

We provide the materials as part of the class fee
We bring our tools so every student can have the same access to them.
Stoneroller provides a handout for each studnet with suggested materials for personal practice

$25 per student for the 2.5 hour workshop
