Support Posters through Consensus

Together, we explore the history of protest/support posters. We also learn the basics of hand lettering and composition–then we work to create signs that fight for justice for all!

Class Structure:
  • Stoneroller leads the class through an age-appropriate talk about the history of showing up with signs to support or protest events
  • We cover the ways we can make signs that are legible, beautiful, and effective
  • We discuss why we must always stay on the right side of history, using faith and principles to guide our messaging*
  • Stoneroller then leads the group through the basics of seeking consensus so that small groups can create a poster together.
  • The class is then excouraged make their own individual posters.
  • If we have the time and space, we then go on a peaceful march, practicing how we can show up and be heard!
Materials:
  • We provide the materials as part of the class fee
  • We bring our tools so every student can have the same access to them.
  • Stoneroller provides a handout for each studnet with suggested materials for personal practice
Fee:
